The MacLellan Studio Pipe comes in your choice of either a "Bb" 466 chanter or an "A" 440 chanter with matching drone reeds. Offered in Delrin or Cocobolo and available in two drone-(bass/tenor) or three drone- (bass/tenor/baritone) models with your choice of mounts.
* These pipes are perfect for playing indoors or along with other instruments and are truly a delight to play! After getting them out you will quickly discover how difficult it is to stop yourself and put them away.
MacLellan Studio pipes require a bit more pressure to play than a typical small pipe, making them much easier and more natural for Highland pipers.
The drones of these well crafted smallpipes mount to a common stock fitted into a Gortex zipper bag with water-trap, and use MacLellan's own drone reeds. The MacLellan drone reeds are phenolic with glassfibre tongues and provide great stability along with a smooth, rich stable tone. The drone reeds thread into the drone to give a more precise tuning adjustment and are matched to the A440 or Bb, 466 chanters.
* Adding an alternate chanter and reeds will allow you to play both A 440 & B 466 (two amazing pipes in one).
